The volleyball players of the VG bamberg had to admit defeat in the regional league southeast against last year’s champion from sonthofen with 1:3 (26:28, 25:19, 21:25, 18:25) and thus returned from the allgau region without points.

The only thing they forgot to pack – and all the players agreed on this – was the victory they had definitely managed to get.
"This defeat is more than annoying", britta lohneib summed up after the game. "We have to close the bag in the first and third set, then we go home with 3:0 and three points and not with a 1:3."
The initial phase was even. Sonthofen usually led by one or two points, but the bamberg women, led by captain anna-lena kron, did not shy away and took the lead for the first time at 10:9. Franziska thiam extended the lead decisively to 17:13 with strong serves. The volley loves this drive.Ballarinas no longer take and secured over 20:16 with 25:19 the set victory.
In set 3, the bamberg women continued directly where they had left off in the second set. Leonie engel brought the upper franconians 10:4 in front with her strong serving. The home team from sonthofen did not like to be disturbed and gradually nibbled away at the lead of the guests. They were still ahead by two points at 18:16, but sonthofen turned the tide and took a 23:21 lead. The spectators now got to see long and competitive rallies – no team wanted to give up so easily. Sonthofen played more calmly in these important phases and secured a 2-1 lead with a 25-21 win.
In the fourth set, the bamberg girls were immediately trailing 0:4. While sonthofen acted confidently, the bamberg side showed some lack of concentration, especially on serve, and the fighting spirit was not as strong as in the previous sets. Coach michael raddatz reacted, brought in britta lohneib and nadine rupp for isabella hippeli and nicole werthmann and woke up his team again at the score of 9:16 in the time-out. From then on, the bambergers were able to balance the match, but were not able to add the decisive quantum to decide the set for themselves (18:25). "We have to learn to prolong our strong phases and not let ourselves be dragged down by three points in a row", stressed trainer michael raddatz.Nr VG bamberg: badum, engel, hippeli, holzlein, kron, lohneib, mayr, rupp, schroder, thiam, werthmann
